Simba stayed on Tokyo time (and we may just keep her on it) so we had a nice, late wake up time at 9:30 yesterday.
We went for a late breakfast/early New York time lunch at Merchant's Guild in East Bentleigh. It was interesting for us because it had a Williamsburg hipster vibe, but the crowd was so varied -- families, old people, and probably a couple hipsters. We knew to try coffee in Melbourne. What we didn't expect was for things to get lost in translation even in English.
On the menu, we saw that "coffee with milk" was listed for A$3.50 (apparently all coffee drinks here are A$3.50). We saw that people around us had lattes, potentially flat whites, etc. But didn't see any of that listed on the menu so we figured if we read off "coffee with milk," we would get some drink that was tasty enough.
So when the waiter came over to our table, Carlos said, "Two coffees with milk." Waiter asks, "Uh, what kind?" Carlos asks jovially, "What kinds do you have?" (assuming the waiter meant some unlisted coffee blends). Waiter responds, "Uhhh. Lattes, cappucinos, flat whites..." (assuming Carlos is some country bumpkin who has never had an espresso based drink in his life).
Our "coffees with milk"

Look at how big Simba's head is compared to that fourteen month old!

Trying to keep Simba cool in the dry, Melbourne heat. Simba screamed at first and then tepidly touched the water.

Barbecue dinner at the park made by Cater. Shortly after this, Simba cried uncontrollably, probably still sleepy from the plane ride.
