Christmas in Japan?

We went searching on Monday for Christmas in Japan. The illuminations at Roppongi Hills and Midtown (big malls in Roppongi) are supposed to be among the best in Tokyo. And Bethany was hoping Simba could take a picture with Santa. But this is definitely a city where Christmas is not really celebrated. Despite taking a picture with St. Nick (who looks like he's holding a lighter), Bethany couldn't stop laughing at what was being promoted as "Santa Claus Street," basically a walkway outside the mall with a few tiny Santa statues.

Soba at Roppongi Hills hit the spot.
Dessert!!!! During our coffee break at Harbs. It was not great.

At 21_21 Design Sight, Japan's first design museum, directed by Issey Miyake among others, one of the exhibits showed daily colors of the sea over a few years in Kamakura...
And the corresponding sky color.
Yeah, Simba, I wasn't so impressed either.
All I want for Christmas is a visit from Santa!
